West Northamptonshire Council’s public transport team is newly established, focused on improving bus services and passenger experience across the region. As part of their mission, they’re using data more effectively to inform decisions and work collaboratively with operators.

West Sussex County Council has been actively working to improve bus journey times across the region by introducing traffic light priority adjustments at 20 key junctions. Upgrades have been completed at 10 of these junctions, with plans to implement changes at the remaining 10. Liz Robbins, Team Leader of Intelligent Transport Systems and Traffic Monitoring at the Council, was tasked with finding an effective method to track the impact of these signal changes, particularly on bus running times.

Hull City Council plays a vital role in keeping bus services running smoothly, including those funded by the Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP). As the new operator, Kent Fastrack has relied on data and operational insights to fine-tune service reliability and deliver a smooth passenger experience.
