Open data sources. The Mosaiq Global Public Transit Index uses publicly available transit schedules and real-time “open” data from locations worldwide. We acknowledge Mobility Database for championing open data globally.
Location definitions. Location names and geographic boundaries are sourced from geoBoundaries and overlaid onto GTFS data within Mosaiq Insights. This enables on-time performance to be measured at the first stop for any trip starting, finishing, or passing through a location.
First stop observance. To provide a clear view of early, on-time, and late performance, the Global Public Transit Index only uses data from trips observed at the first stop.
Data refresh and date range. The dataset refreshes daily and reflects the most recent 28 days for the selected location(s), where available.
Spotlight (UK). The UK Spotlight displays the top 10 locations, sorted by on-time performance, with more than 50,000 tracked trips. More detailed data is available in Mosaiq Insights.
Missing locations. Locations not shown may not have publicly available data, or may not yet be ingested into Mosaiq Insights.
Not seeing your data in the GPTI? We can add your network at no cost, allowing you to compare performance and explore Mosaiq Insights for deeper analysis and actionable improvement opportunities.
